Ardtalla is located on the Novar Estate which was created by Sir Hector Munro in the 18th century and is still owned by his descendants. It is a traditional mixed highland estate extending to 20,000 acres between the Rivers Glass and Alness.

Novar Estate was once described as a "barren and treeless place". Three hundred years later and under the stewardship of the same family, it is a thriving Highland estate extending to 20,000 acres and including farmland, forestry, hill, shooting, fishing and most recently alternative energy enterprises.

Ardtalla sits at the heart of the estate and adjacent to Novar’s five acre walled garden complete with tennis court and croquet lawn.

The building is a recent conversion of the original 18th century stable square and provides nine bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom, a large double-storeyed galleried hall, drawing room, dining room, sitting room, billiard room, kitchen, drying room and secure gun room. There is central heating throughout, through a state of the art wood chip boiler system and open fires in the hall, drawing room and dining room.

Housekeeping and all meals are included except by special arrangement. Where ever possible produce is grown in the garden for use in the house and other produce is sourced nearby including local seafood and Highland Fine Cheeses.

Accommodation for an additional 6 guests is available in the adjacent Larch Cottage bringing the total capacity to 24 guests.
