You say...
We again had a fantastic time in Glen Lyon. A group of mixed ages and mixed sporting ability, but a wonderful time had by one and all. With regards to the lodge, there is no question the improvements are for the better, while the old arrangements certainly had their own charm the updated bathrooms are of course an improvement. All the guests commented on how comfortable they were and how sympathetically everything had been done. Our cook who knows the lodge and he certainly approves of everything that has been done downstairs, both in terms of the kitchen and his accommodation. With regard to the sport, the day on the hill was particularly enjoyed by guns, beaters and dogs alike. While I know Hamish was a little disappointed by the bag, this was more a reflection of the calibre of a pretty inexperienced team of guns rather than a lack of grouse. We also had a wonderful day up at the brown trout loch with a number of the younger members of the party getting involved in the sport, although only one fish was actually landed before swimming seemed to dominate proceedings! We were rewarded with a c. 17.5 lbs salmon which surprised as much as it delighted. It was in fact especially notable as breaking the fisherman’s size record of 32 years which had been set with the first fish he ever caught! My thanks for your help in ensuring that everything went so well.
