Duirinish Lodge stands in a spectacular position with breathtaking panoramic views across the sea to the Isle of Skye, including the whole of the Cuillin mountain range, Isle of Raasay, Applecross and Torridon.
The lodge was built in 1936 and offers very comfortable accommodation. All the main reception rooms have the benefit of wonderful views to the west including the recently extended drawing room, which opens directly onto a courtyard. The kitchen/breakfast room is fully equipped with an AGA and state of the art equipment and facilities.
There is accommodation for 10 on a self-catering basis. This includes a guest wing, which can be either fully integrated with the main house, or alternatively used by a couple, small group or live-in cook. It is fully equipped to the same high standard as the rest of the Lodge and can be completely self-contained. The Lodge has full central heating throughout.
Duirinish Lodge is a perfect location for holidays - be it for walking, exploring the area, or just for 'getting away from it all' to a secluded and tranquil location for relaxation.
Duirinish has a fabulous organic garden producing herbs, fruit and vegetables that is available free of charge guests during their stay. Duirinish will email you the week before you arrive to advise you what is likely to be ready for picking!
This years crops are likely to include lettuces, tomatoes, courgettes, potatoes, leeks, brussel sprouts, kale, onions, carrots, turnips, cabbages, salad onions, rhubarb, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, apples, pears, plums…………………… what a fabulous way to get your children to eat their greens!
The private woodland and gardens extend to 18 acres. There is a summerhouse that has been built at the highest point of the property, giving panoramic views all round.
Plockton, 2 miles from the Lodge, is an exceptionally picturesque fishing village, and has a pub, a general store and other facilities.

Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with electric hob and oven, microwave oven, Miele fridge and freezer, Miele washing machine and dishwasher. There is a Dualit toaster, electric kettle, cafetiere and a radio.
The circular table and 4 chairs are hand-crafted from oak.
The simple controller for the central heating - using the Biomass renewable energy boiler - is located in the kitchen.
Hot water is available throughout the house at all times.
A Miele clothes drier is provided in an out-building adjacent to the house.
Sitting room
The sitting room was completely refurbished and redecorated in 2011.
It has new furniture, lighting, carpeting, curtains, and artwork.
There is a flat-screen TV, equipped with Sky including Sky Sports.
There is a DVD and CD player.

Games room:
Separate from the house, and accessible at all times by guests, is the games room. It has a newly recovered pool table, a darts board, a CD / radio player and is heated by the central heating system.
Additional information:
The owner has planted a house vegetable garden so that guests can pick their own fresh vegetables!
The property is equipped throughout with a WiFi network.
For guests who have Vodafone mobiles, we can offer 4-5 bar service throughout the house (note that the guest's mobile numbers need to be registered with the owners Vodafone SureSignal account in order to access this service). Otherwise mobile coverage is not good at the lodge.
The property has recently achieved is 12th straight year of 5-star rating by VisitScotland's assessors.
Duirinish have installed a new biomass wood pellets heating and hot water system which is excellent and provides endless hot water and constant warmth throughout the house. Perfect for a winter ‘let’
