Gualin Lodge

The lodge offers very comfortable accommodation for up to 10 guests on a self-catering basis.

Cottage
The additional cottage provides accommodation for 2-3 and can be rented separately. The Cottage consists of a bedroom with 2 Single Beds, Bathroom, Kitchenette and Sitting Room with a large sofa bed.

N.B.
The Estate provides all linen and towels.

Housekeeping is provided for 2 hours in the Lodge every day.

Fishing
Gualin Estate owns 6 miles of double bank fishing on the River Dionard which is divided into six, 2 rod beats, which rotate on a daily basis. The beats all have their own character and offer some lovely fly water. Fishing is by fly only, and being a classic spate river, the river is fished best given the right water conditions.

Loch Dionard is a magical and wonderfully atmospheric place at the head of the system and forms Beat 6. There is a boat with outboard motor on the Loch and the services of a ghillie to keep it. There are four fishing huts throughout the beats, all with gas rings.

The Estate employs a full time River Keeper. Transport is provided for 2 rods per Beat to the upper 5 Beats and Beat 1 can be reached by car. Treble hooks are not allowed.

There is trout fishing on the estate lochs and the famous limestone lochs of Durness can be fished by arrangement.

Stalking
Stalking can be arranged on Gualin Estate and on some spectacular neighbouring estates with Garron ponies used in the traditional way.

Other Activities
There is a 9 hole golf course with stunning sea views at Durness.

The area boasts some wonderful white sandy beaches for walking.
